Fully Rendered
Gone are the days of tiny sprites used to show emotion and character. As nostalgic as they are for us gamers heralding the days of "Old School", there is a certain quality that modern video games give us in various FMV sequences. We're able to see characters portrayed in their real environments with a greater display of emotion. Back in the early days of Final Fantasy games, the best we really got to see the characters was through Amano's illustrations in the guide books. Now, we get to see them in fully-rendered and realistic glory. Below are various screen captures from the different FMV sequences that we see Rosa appear in. These were screen captured by me, so if you decide to take them and post them anywhere, please be sure to give a link back. I'd appreciate it!
Final Fantasy Chronicles: 1997
For the playstation re-release of the game, Squaresoft added two FMV scenes at the begnning and ending of the game. These FMV sequences appear to be made very early, as the FMVs for FFV are of much higher quality. At any rate, the FMV features Rosa in one short part. The camera zooms in on her, and she looks up with an expression of worry. The other time she is featured is when they approach the final battle.
Nintendo DS: 2008
For the 20th anniversary of the Final Fantasy series, game was entirely remade in 3D for the DS. The game intro, displayed each time the game is played (but can be skipped) is a beautiful fully-rendered FMV featuring the characters and various memorable scenes in the game. Along with this, it features some of the most memorable themes including: Theme of Love, the Main Theme, and the classic Final Fantasy Epilogue theme.
This FMV displays Rosa in beautiful detail, full of emotion. Her FMV render is extemely close to the original Amano artwork. She appears in the opening scene of the FMV, which appears to be a bit similar to the playstation FMV, at least in how she's depicted. She's shown again with the various party members, and casting magic along with Rydia.
