Information » observations

Here is a list of several interesting observations that I've made about Allen during the course of the games. It's led me to believe that there's way more to Allen than what outward appearances show.

1. Allen comes from a wealthy family, but does not discuss the details of his background to anyone. There must be an important reason behind this!

2. There has to be an explaination behind that horrible swimsuit of his!

3. Allen is constantly refered to as "unimposing", "your average guy", and "useless". He is also easily forgotten by the others. He seems to be on a very low profile. However, Allen's additude about it does not show that he wants it to be this way. He seems upset when Miyuki tells him that nobody mentioned that he was missing. He also argues the "useless" comments all the time. Perhaps he really is going to end up proving everyone different in the end.

4. Allen voices his concern about "mutants", yet he seems fine and dandy once getting on board the Durandal and venturing into the Kukai Foundation. He appears to be easily swayed by the luxurious surroundings. However, there could be a different reason behind it all. Perhaps he feels at home?

5. The tone of Allen's voice when refering to Juli Mizrahi and U-TIC in the first game was very solemn and thoughful. During the dicussion, he sits quietly in the back, but then later speaks up. He didn't seem as if he was panicing or worrying as he usually is when making off the wall assumptions. After Momo and Shion voice their opinions on the matter, he hangs his head and appologizes, almost as if he was backing up into a corner and choosing to play the role of the wallflower again.

6. Allen joins everyone in the Encephalon Dive. Nephilim says that she was waiting for all of them. Therefore, Allen has an important purpose in the role of the story beyond that of comedy relief.

7. Allen said that he doesn't have any memory of the Acute Neurosis Treatment Center. chaos says that he has no memory of being there either. Yet he never mentions that he was on Miltia fourteen years ago. There could be a possibillity that chaos is covering up Allen's memories. Nephilim says that they all have to face their pasts. Shion has to face her past with her parents, Febronia, and Kevin. Jr faces his past with the other U.R.T.V's, Ziggy will eventually have to face his past and confront Voyager. I feel that Allen is no different. Yet his past is never really revealed to us, only tiny bits and fragments that hint that there is something more to him.

8. After the Encephalon dive into KOS-MOS's subconsious, the camera pans around to all the characters, and they all seem to be showing emotions of relief. The camera switches over to Allen who is shown in a daze for about five seconds. He looked as if he was not mentally present at that moment, showing no emotion what so ever. However, after Shion calls his name, he snaps back into reality and rushes over to hug her.

9. Allen seems to be knowlegeable about U-TIC. At one point in Episode I, after the Song of Nephilim appears, everyone is talking about U-TIC. The camera briefly focuses in on Allen and he shows an expression of worry.

10. Cannan says that no normal human being can pilot an E.S. When Shion and Allen board the Elsa after being attacked by the Red Testement in space, he says that he didn't know that so many people could pilot them.

11. When the Ormus Stronghold appears in between the two black holes, the camera pans around to different characters. All of them seem to be fairly shocked. However, Allen is freaking out. His knees are shaking and he's backing up against the wall in fear. He seems to be even more scared than he was in the events in Episode I, which are more terrifying than a ship appearing out of nowhere. I found it odd that he was that scared over it. Perhaps he could be scared about Orums wiping out the Elsa, but perhaps there's another reason behind it?

11. Allen knows exactly where to take the Elsa in the gigantic Omega System in order to rescue everyone. When you see him, he's hovering over Hammer's seat (the navigator), which shows that he was obviously telling Hammer where to take the ship. How would they be able to make it there just in time, if it wasn't for Allen's hidden powers?

12. However, despite that, we are told that Allen is "good". The Pink Bug email says "He seems like a nice ghost", and chaos says that Allen has a "good heart". So if Allen does have any suspicious connections, I feel that Allen will not purposefully betray the others, especially Shion. I believe that he would rather die than put Shion in harm's way. He even told her that he would accompany her to the "very depths of hell".

More information on Episode II will be provided as I replay the game!
